The cost is determined by a few basic factors such as: Urn selection, number of death certificates, and distance from West Des Moines.

The base cost of the cremation in Cedar Rapids is $895.  We proudly serve all 99 counties of Iowa.  Initial transportation is within 20-mile radius of the Polk county funeral home location.  The medical examiner charges $75 for a cremation permit.   All counties in Iowa charge $15 per death certificate which is in addition to Celebrate Life Iowa’s base cremation cost. Other additions can be the cost of an obituary in newspapers and an upgraded urn of your choice.

Initial transportation is included within a 20-mile radius of our Polk County facility. Additional mileage fees apply:

• $200 for 20–40 miles

• $300 for 41–59 miles

• $400 for 60–124 miles

• $500 for 124–174 miles

Every person is properly identified once entering Celebrate Life Iowa’s crematory.  All personal belongings are logged, and each individual is assigned a cremation tag that remains with them through the cremation process.
